Furniture Design
I was commissioned to design and manufacture a chair for an autistic girl. The chair needed to help her feel safe while sitting and still cater to her need of a facilitator to help her communicate. The curvature of the seat and back, as well as the receptive cushions, helps her feel safe and secure in a chair without arm rests. The lack of arm rests and the narrow back allow for multiple facilitation techniques.
